07.04.2006 – Celebration of the 40th Anniversary of Opening the Sumy Branch of Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute
The University began its history in 1948 as an educational and consultation centre of correspondence polytechnic institute. Since 1966 - it has been the branch of Kharkiv polytechnic institute. Since 1990 Ö it has become physical and technological institute. In accordance with the order of Ministry of Education of Ukraine from 26.08.93 ¦ 318 Sumy State University was formed on the basis of the institute.
Celebrations Concerning the 40th Anniversary took place April 7, 2006 at the SSU assembly hall and at the canteen.
Many graduates, friends and colleagues came to express their congratulations personally.
On the occasion of the 40th jubilee of Sumy Branch of KPI the contest concerning the best report took place.
The topic: "My University is My Pride". The awarding of the best reports took place March 28 in the Literary Room of SSU.
