02.09.2005 – Sumy students were perpetuated...

When you are waiting for something to happen, it comes true...
On the place, where in the summer of 2004 have been tents of protestants, has been erected a monument – three girls (as a symbol of three universities) rising up to their feet. One can long dispute whether they "deserved it or not ". Though it is just here that force has been springing up, freedom arising and LOVE flourishing.

A monument is first of all a reminder for everybody and to power especially that they have to take its people into consideration, that people must be respected.
It is what Irina Merkun, present head of the students SSU trade union, previous students rector, was speaking about at the opening. This delicate girl showed the power what the youth is capable for. Festive official procession had to submit and stay here longer than 10 planned minutes.

Then Alexandr Moroz, a head of the socialist party, was asked to speak. He joined to what Irina said and once more accentuated the necessity to listen to the youth, told that the rights of people must be respected and defended, and spoke also about democratization of the Ukrainian society.

A festive right to unveil the monument was presented to Sergey Sverdlenko (SSPU by Makarenko), Alexandr Stepanenko (SNAU), Vladimir Chepik (SSU) and professor Leonid Mel’nik (SSU).

Students, parents, teachers and collaborators – people congratulated each other on the fest. Some people were even close to turning on the tears.
Maybe somebody was irritated by the presence of flags of different political forces, administrative resource and church acolytes. Though the majority was used to it – they were glad to meet each other and were glad to remember about their victory. Their conscience has already learnt to pay attention to positive moments, for as is well known you develop those things, to which you pay attention. So let’s develop humanity and love!
