Chair of Metal-Cutting Machine Tools and Instruments
General information
The chair was founded in 1975 as a result of separation from the chair " Mechanical Engineering Technology".
Today 8 lecturers work on the chair, everyone has a scientific degree.
The head of the chair is S.V. Shvets, assistant professor, Candidate of Technical Sciences.

Structure of the chair
The chair is placed in the A-building and Ò-building, the machine tools park – in the B-building.
The branch of the chair was established at the Sumy State Standardization and Certification Center.
Scientific research
The chair provides the postgraduate courses. There are 4 post-graduate students at the present time. Annually the state budgetary and contract scientific works are performed. A lot of scientific articles are published. There are copyright certificates and monographs.
Educational process
The chair provides graduating in the following specialties "Metal-Cutting Machine Tools and Systems", "Tools Production".There is a wide experience of training mechanical engineers. In 2001 the chair received the license for training specialists in one more specialty: "Quality, Standardization and Certification".
Methodical maintenance
The chair provides students with methodical instructions. The manuals by Shvets, Zaloga, Sedinkin, Alexeyev have been issued. Much attention is given to the study and use of information disciplines (CAD system tools and CAD system machine tools). It resulted three times in taking the first places at the Ukrainian students Olympiads in CAD systems(1998, 1999, 2000).
