Chair of Information Science
The head of the Chair is Volodymyr. O. L’ubchak, the associate professor , the candidate of physical and mathematical science.
Information Science Chair has twelve-year history. It was formed as the Applied Mathematics Chair in accordance with an order at the Sumy branch of the Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute ¹144-1 from October 10 1990. The first head of the Chair was Leonid. A. Phil’shtyns’ky, professor and doctor of physical and mathematical science. In summer 2002 it got the name of the Information Science Chair as a result of the structural reorganization: graduating in a specialty “ Applied Mathematics” is entrusted with the Applied Mathematics and Mechanics Chair ( earlier it was Mathematical Physics Chair), but in a specialty “ Information Science” with the Information Science Chair. Within the Chair’s Staff there are 16 lecturers, from whom 7 are the associate professors, 6 are the senior lecturers and 3 are the assistant lecturers.
