Forming of the contingent of students
The contingent of students of the daily department of the college is formed at the basis of general education from among the number of pupils of the schools of the Sumy city and region, and extra-mural department - at the basis of the full general secondary education from among the number of pupils of schools, Trade School, workers of enterprises of the Sumy city and region.
The following measures are taken up with the aim of high-grade choice of graduates for the entrance to the college:
- during the last 5 years there act 4-months access courses on mathematics and Ukrainian according to the 144-hour syllabus. The entrants, who graduated access courses successfully, have benefits when entering the college;
- there are extra-mural access courses for the pupils of the region;
- during the time of work of access courses heads of the departments carry out career-guidance work with the auditory of the courses, make them acquainred with the material resources of the college and help to choose the specialty;
- administration and teachers carry out career-guidance work at the city and regional schools systematically, they tell about the college, its specialties, conditions of entance;
- twice a year the college holds an open house;
- college makes agreements with schools for the selection and training of entrants to the college;
- 5-yeared collaboration of the college with the Sumy State University in the structure of teaching and methodical complex, and since 1.09.1997 as a structural subdivision of the university, let develop a graduated scheme for training of bachelors;
Realization of this scheme into practice raised the prestige of the college. The high-grade of the students of the college changed, the quality of education grew up. Graduates of the college have a possibility to continue their education at the university since the 3rd course and be enrolled for the military chair for getting status of reserve officer. Students of no other educational institution of ²-²² levels of accreditation have such benefits on the territory of Ukraine.
