Ensurance of the educational process in the college

Educational process in the college is ensured by:

• Educational-professional programs on the specialties confirmed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.
• Work syllabuses of junior specialists training confirmed by the college director.
• Temporary syllabuses of the graduated training of bachelors confirmed by the SSU rector.
• Work syllabuses of the graduated training of bachelors confirmed by the SSU rector.

Work plans are co-ordinated with qualification characteristics and with leading specialists of enterprises taking into account modern requirement towards specialists. Additional disciplines are introduced into syllabuses on the requirements of enterprises.

Syllabuses foresee 3 kinds of practice: educational, technological-manufacturing and fore-diploma.There have been developed programs and forms of report on all the kinds of practice on the specialties. They are confirmed by heads of enterprises and college. All the subjects according to the syllabuses are maintained with work syllabuses, methodical developments for practical courses and laboratory works. Syllabuses were confirmed at the meeting of Methodic Council of the college and co-ordinated with the corresponding chairs of the SSU. Syllabuses foresee individual work of students in learning of the program materials, methodical tips have been developed for learning of some themes.

Basic enterprises of the college where students do all the kinds of practical work are joint-stock company Sumy Machine-Building Scientific-Production Union called after Frunze, joint-stock company "Pumping and Power-Engineering Plant" and joint-stock company "Zentrolit". Most of the graduates subdivide for to the workshops of these enterprises for job, where half a year they work as probationers at a working place, whereafter in 1 - 2 years they take up engineering-technical post as a rule.

Fundamentalization of education in the college is realized by introducing the following disciplines into syllabuses: philosophy, fundamentals of economic theory, sociology, fundamentals of constitutional law of Ukraine, fundamentals of law, geography, business Ukrainian, computerized technics, fundamentals of higher physics, chemistry and mathematics. Syllabuses on these disciplines are confirmed by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Practical orientation of education is realized when doing laboratory works, practical courses, term papers and graduation theses.

The constituent of practical education is fulfilling the programs of practice by them:

• educational – where a student gets his working qualification;
• fore-diploma - where a student together with training for diploma projecting gets acquainted with the functions of master, production engineer of the area; inspector foreman; technician-constructor; with the structure of machine-building enterprise, organization of safety measures at the enterprise.

A student makes a report on each kind of practice according to syllabuses and defends it in a test form.

Organization of studying of world achievements in the machine-building field improved after joining up to the SSU. These are such forms of work as participation of students and teachers in scientific-technical conferences, doing probation period by teachers at faculty of raising the level of skills, university chairs, using the SSU library stock.

Considerable scientific-practical work is put into practice by the students of the college under the direction of teachers of SSU and scientific collaborators of the association "Progress".

There must be mentioned team-work of the teachers of the specialty "Processing of materials at machines and automated lines" of the college and teachers of the chair "Machine-Building technologies” of the SSU on organization and putting scientific-research work into practice, real term paper and graduation theses by the students of the college.

There was organized by the students of the college the development of new technologies and production of the progressive film-slitting instrument under the direction of leading specialists of the association "Progress".

Graduated training of bachelors

1. After the first course of education in the college students of the specialties "Processing of materials at machines and automated lines" and "Chemical and oil machine-building" according to the fixed criteria are formed into the groups for graduated training of bachelors. After graduating of the 4^th course of the college they get a qualification "Junior specialist", and according to the Statute they are transferred for education to the ^3rd course of the engineering faculty of the SSU with the right of choice of eight specialties.
2. After the first course of education in the college students of the specialties 5.080406, 5.090227 and 5.090246 are formed into the groups for graduated training of bachelors, according to the Statute, as to the following criteria: average grade of advancement – 8,2 grades and higher (on mathematics, physics, chemistry, information science, Ukrainian and foreign language marks should be not lower than 8 marks).
3. Students from the specialty "Enterprise economics" after graduating from the 3^rd course of the college and getting a qualification "Junior specialist", and according to the Statute they are transferred for education to the 2^nd course of the economic faculty of SSU with the right of choice of three specialties.
4. Students from the specialty "Founding production of black and colour metals” after graduating from the 4^th course of the college and getting a qualification "Junior specialist", and according to the Statute they are enrolled for the 3^rd course of the SSU for education on the specialty "Applied Science of Materials".

Training of junior specialists

1. 1. Students who after the first course did not get to the groups of the college, after finishing their education get a qualification "Junior specialist" and have a right, according to the Statute, to continue their education in the SSU from the first course of daily department or since the third course of extra-mural department. On the administration college reference and in the presence of agreement with an enterprise these students become enrolled to the university according to the results of interview.
2. 2. The graduates who completed extra-mural department of the college have a right to continue their education at the extra-mural department of the SSU since 3^rd – 4^th course.
3. 3. Graduates from the college on the specialties "Processing of materials at machines and automated lines", "Chemical and oil machine-building" and "Founding production of black and colour metals", who entered the SSU have a possibility to study at the military chair of the university.
4. 4. After graduating of the 4^th course of the college students of the groupes of graduated training of bachelors get a qualification "Junior specialist" and according to the Statute they are transferred for education to the SSU:
   • students of the specialties 5.090227 and 5.090246 – to the 3 course of the engineering faculty with a right of choice of the eight specialties;
   • students of the specialty 5.050107 – to the 2 course of the economic faculty with a right of choice of the four specialties;
   • students of the specialty 5.090403 - to the 3 course of the engineering faculty on the specialty “Applied Science of Materials”;
   • students of the specialty 5.080406 – to the engineering faculty on the specialty “Information technologies of projecting” for the 3 course and mechanical and mathematical faculty on the specialty “Applied Mathematics” for the 2 course or on the specialty “Information Science” for the 2 course.
5. After graduating of the 4^th course of the college students of the groups of the technical school get a qualification "Junior specialist" and in the presence of agreement for individual training and recommendations of the Pedagogical Council have a right to enter the SSU for the 1 course of the corresponding speсialty according to the results of interview.
   Terms of reception of documents:
   • daily department: since June,14 till July, 22;
   • extra-mural department: since September,1 till July, 31.
   
   There are internal (January-April) access courses for entrants.
   There are extra-mural access courses for inhabitants of other towns.
   All the nonresident students are ensured with the hospice.

Educational-teaching work

Educational-teaching work in the college is carried out according to the requirements of the present time, following the normative documents and acts on this problem. The state national program "Education" (Ukraine of the XXI century) makes up the basis of educational-teaching process. The program realizes principles of democratization of education, humanization and humanitarization and national orientation.

Self-government is introduced into the life of students collectives as an effective way of teaching of the necessity of creative searchings, high professional competence, responsibility, ability of living and work in the new market conditions and also raise the responsibility of students quality of education, development of their initiatives and independence in the future specialists. There is a "School of the students active team" in the college where course leaders of groups and their helpmates learn to manage with students collectives, plan and carry out different arrangements.
